Twenty-eight-year-old Lela has no memory of her horrific childhood. She doesn’t remember her murdered mother, doesn’t even remember that she once had a sister named Jolene who had tried to save Lela from their sexually abusive father. That is until one day when a strange man appears bringing with him Jolene’s bedraggled, neglected child. It is this stranger’s gentle persistence that unlocks the doors of Lela’s memory and leads her back – as the love between sisters comes full circle – to Jolene.
